Minecraft – build your own world
Minecraft is an indie game created by Notch (Markus Persson), Swedish computer programmer. The game's currently on beta but the popularity of the game is over the top. You can dig and mine to create your houses and contraptions. I would have described this game as a digital Lego, where you can limitlessly build constructs. But this video showed me an innovative possibilities and capabilities of Minecraft.

A Youtuber, TheInternetFTW, has built a 16 bit ALU and CPU's that operates on Minecraft. Later, we might be able to build a computer inside the Minecraft world and play Minecraft in Minecraft. TheInternetFTW plans on a much bigger project. He says the real value of Minecraft is that it could be used to explain how an extreme machine or circuits work. This project he suggests, an immense Science Museum in Minecraft, can be ever-expendable and extremely beneficial to many people with no limits or barrier.

The Elements of Computing Systems: Building a Modern Computer from First Principles

This book was written to support a course created by Noam Nisan and Shimon Schocken.
The course goes thoroughly from the Boolean functions to the operating systems.
All the required knowledge is taught in the course so students can truly understand how everything works from the basics.
It's published by the MIT press and it's available online at http://www1.idc.ac.il/tecs/
One of the assignment for chapter 1 was to build all the primitive gates with only the NAND gates.
Although the book provided a simulator, I used a logic simulator online which was more visual. (http://http://logic.ly/)

I was quite amazed at how fast-paced this course was but yet the contents were easy to comprehend.

Except Handler4 Common msvcrt.dll error
I’ve recently encountered the problem many other people have encountered - Except handler4 common - a msvcrt.dll error. I don't honestly understand the cause of this issue but I found a solution that might help.
This is a dependency error and can be easily solved just changing the name of the file:
dwmapi.dll (located in windows\system32)
Rename it to adwmapi.dll (or any name that you can remember)
Solved!
*it seems that this file is not necessary for winxp, so you can just delete the file instead of renaming it.

Facebook Status Bar
During this summer, I wanted to keep myself occupied and do something constructive.Few weeks ago, my best friend and I watched a movie-- The Social Network. It was about Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, and the conflicts that occurred during the creation of the Facebook. There was a scene where he was "wired in" to his computer and coding his website for day and night.
I was motivated by the movie and willing to learn! But I realized that I was not the kind of person that just starts reading books and memorizing every single code. So I gave myself a project that will allow me to develop some of the most critical skills for web designing. I planned to make a Status Bar similar to the one on the Facebook website. As I was brainstorming, I realized that I had to used lots of web scripting languages; starting from html to sql. As a result, I've used and learned HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, and Mysql.
Here is a link to the application. http://misteryi.co.cc/sharenew.html/
After writing one of these, you will be able to create something more complex such as a login system and more(posting, commenting, chatting and etc).
Here is the first brainstorm of the application.
